At the beginning
of the season and beginning of each week, contestants are weighed and compared to their previous weight. Within teams the
total percentage of weight loss for the team must be highest to avoid elimination. Weigh-in episodes were generally screened
on Sunday nights, or left as a cliffhanger and combined with elimination episodes. The total combined starting weight of contestants
was displayed, unlike in previous seasons which was 2137.3kg for the initial 15 contestants. This did not include the weight
of the black team or other eliminated contestants.
- Week 1: The blue team won the weigh-in
with a total loss of 60.5kg (5.83%) and the red team lost 38.8 (3.95%), sending the red team to elimination. Sean was the
biggest loser for the blue team and out of everyone with a loss of 12.6kg (7.22%). Cosi was the biggest loser for the red
team with a loss of 9.5 (6.75%). Alison was the biggest loser out of the women with a loss of 6.8kg (5.59%). The black team
was ranked second but are currently do not have to take challenges or eliminations.
- Week 2: The blue team won the weigh-in
for a second consecutive time with a total loss of 35.3kg (4.09%), sending the red team to elimination. Sam was the biggest
loser with a loss of 7.0kg (4.87%). The black team had the lowest percentage of weight loss (1.70%) but was not ranked with
red and blue as they are not directly involved in the game. Alison was chosen to sit out of the weigh in, with her weight
loss included in the Blue team total, they would have lost 37.9 (3.88%).
- Week 3: The red team won the weigh-in for the first
time. The trainers were part of the weigh-in for he first time to offer support. The blue team had a 3kg penalty due to loosing
a previous challenge and had lost Sam as part of the Walk. Even if Sam was on the Blue team and the 3kg penalty didn't apply,
the red team still would have won significantly. The total weight loss for the blue team was -16.5, but with the 3kg penalty
this was taken down to -13.5kg (1.68%).
